Flo Creed Jacobson Initiative is a mindfulness education nonprofit based in the Boston area, with roots in Stoughton, Massachusetts. Our mission is to help individuals build confidence, resilience, optimism and self-awareness through practical mindfulness education.
Serving communities throughout Boston and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, we provide programs that equip people with tools to manage stress, strengthen emotional intelligence, and cultivate healthier relationships with themselves and others.
Through workshops, partnerships, and educational initiatives, we bring mindfulness training to schools, and workplaces seeking greater balance and wellbeing.

Our Story

The story of FCJI begins with the life and legacy of Florastine "Flo" Creed-Jacobson.

Flo dedicated more than 26 years of service to the Boston Police Department, where she broke the promotional glass ceiling 6 times and became known for her strength, compassion, and unwavering commitment to helping others. Throughout her career, she mentored individuals facing personal and professional challenges, encouraging them to develop confidence, resilience, and a belief in their own potential.

Her impact extended far beyond her role in law enforcement. Flo believed that personal growth begins with self-awareness and that the tools people need to navigate life’s challenges can be learned and practiced.

Inspired by her example, Alan Jacobson, the founder of FCJI, set out to continue her legacy by creating an organization dedicated to empowering others through mindfulness education.
