FCJI List Of School Activities from 2007 to 2018
ACTION
We taught mindfulness at the Nathan Hale Elementary School in Roxbury to students and staff from 2006 to 2016.
We had our first Benefit at Lombardo’s in Randolph in April 2007. This launched our organization. With the proceeds we established scholarships exceeding $9,500 for graduates of Hyde Park HS School Complex, Flo's alma mater.

Board members handmade approximately 200 winter scarves for the students at the Nathan Hale and Kenny and Elementary Schools.
We supported three mentoring organizations, No Books, No Ball, The Basketball Ministry and Boys To Men NE with donations of $500 each.

Achieved 501C(3) status with the IRS.
Funded a very innovative program at The Donovan School in Randolph called “Engage NewYork." Three fifth grade classrooms benefited by learning to work as teams while enhancing their capacity to learn and pass MCAS standards. We also supplemented several student field trips.
Created a writing program at the Nathan Hale School to help the students to become more self-aware.The three-year program gave certificates to all the participants and two students from each class were awarded Barnes & Nobles gift certificates for excellence.
Implemented an annual donation of supporting “No Books No Ball” to support their terrific summer program.

Expanded our board to 10 people including retired School Superintendent, Principal, Teachers (retired and actively teaching) as well as Entrepreneurs.
Established another annual scholarship fund-Boston High School.
FCJI donated replacement books, as needed, to the Hansen Elementary School Library.
Paid for the rental of two bus loads of students to attend field trips to the Big Apple Circus.
Seven Board Members registered and completed the Fundamentals Course from Mindful Schools. Alan Jacobson has has completed the year-long certification course and is now certified to teach students and teachers. Our mindfulness program is patterned on the teachings of Mindful Schools. It is modified to best meet the needs of schools, especially those school system with SEL (Social Emotion Learning) Programs.
We held our last Gala Benefit titled "Mentoring Through Mindfulness" on November 3, 2018. It was a wonderful success. Our goal was to share information about the benefits of mindfulness while honoring Flo's Life and Legacy.
We have been teaching mindfulness to several classrooms of students at the Taylor since 2018.
We have also been teaching mindfulness to two groups of adults at CCBC (Community Counseling of Bristol County in Taunton.) The Bridge House is a 90 day treatment program for women and the Robert Smith House is a 90 day treatment program for men.
