Flo Creed-Jacobson Scholarship Fund Launches Benefit for Hyde Park High Students
Thursday, April 26, 2007, Lombardo’s, Randolph, MA: On Thursday April 26, 2007 at Lombardo’s. Rte 28, Randolph, The Flo Creed-Jacobson Scholarship Fund, a pending 501©3 organization, will host its premier fundraising event to create scholarships for college bound Hyde Park High School Students in need of financial assistance. The foundation was formed by friends and family members to honor the memory of Superintendent Flo Creed-Jacobson, a 26 year veteran of the Boston Police Department (BPD), and the first black female Sergeant, Lieutenant, Deputy and Superintendent on the BPD. Creed-Jacobson was devoted to education and positive accomplishments during her lifetime and earned her degree in Criminal Justice at Northeastern University. She completed her Law Degree at The New England School of Law and passed the bar exam on her first attempt. Her husband Alan Jacobson stated, “Flo enriched my life more than anyone ever has because of who she was and how she lived her life. She inspired me and so many others simply by being herself.” Creed-Jacobson’s life was cut short on October 26, 2005, the day of her 59th birthday after a two year struggle with cancer. The celebration of her life will take place from 6:30 PM to 11 PM including appetizers, a four course meal, door prizes, and a silent auction. All proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund.
