Addy grew up in a pastoral home with Christian principles. She lives by the Golden Rule. She has been working in the Boston Public Schools for the past 25 years at the elementary school level. For the past 2 years her current administrative position is to evaluate and elevate the teaching capacities of 27 teachers at her school. Addy founded and is the president of a nonprofit named Destiny Restored Ministries. One of its main functions is to serve the poor and needy by supplementing their diet.

​My main purpose in life is to be a blessing to others even in the smallest detail. My purpose is not to accumulate but to share with others. You're blessed to be a blessing. It’s not just going to church. You speak up for those that cannot speak up for themselves. I do the right thing because it is the right thing to do.
