Alan JacobsonPresident
President of the Flo Creed-Jacobson Initiative and was married to Flo Creed-Jacobson for 16 years. Flo was his soul mate. Their marriage was based on bringing out the best in each other and focusing their energies on contributing to the community. He is the proud father of two sons and an amazing grandson. Alan has a background in psychology and marketing from UMass and Northeastern University. For the past several years, he has been a massage therapist, energy worker and hospice volunteer. He’s a Master Mason with Garden City Lodge a Lead Elder with the Mankind Project and was a mentor with Boys to Men NE as well as a student at the Sunray Meditation Society in Lincoln VT. His passion to work with children began at the age of 19 when he was in the U.S. Navy and volunteered at the Southern Home For Children in Philadelphia. In the 1990’s Alan volunteered with the Horizon’s For Homeless Children and served on the leadership counsel for two years. He has volunteered with Old Colony Hospice for 5 years. He was an active volunteer as a mentor in the Boston Public Schools, primarily at the Nathan Hale School from 2004 to 2016. He loved his time working with first through fifth grade students with both academics and introduced the students and some of the staff to mindfulness and Qigong. He enthusiastically endorses Frederick Douglass’ quote: “It is much easier to build strong children than to fix broken men.” Alan’s objective is to use the Initiative as a vehicle to make a positive difference in the lives of children while honoring Flo’s loving memory. |
